As you all might be knowing that the registrations are now open for the Indian candidates. I would request someone to please let me know what changes has the cfa institute brought about in the syllabus, so that i can plan my preparations accordingly.( I mean the L1 June 2008 syllabus and Level1 December 2007 syllabus )

Thanks for your help.

i dont think there is much of changes except that the cfa institute has now made it mandatory to buy the books from them.

Here's an overview of the changes

I guess they made changes to FSA and corp fin and quant essentially.

probably made it 'easier' for corp fin and quant and included more topics in FSA

Is the material provided by CFA institute comprehensive or it just provides brief highlights regarding the course content? I want to know does CFA instt. material provides detailed text or not? Has anyone registered for this June?

the 6 books in the curriculum weigh around 7.5 kilos !. you can guess how detailed they are!

it would not be a bad idea to supplement your studies with some prep provider materials (stalla/schweser/allenresources etc).it would take a BIG effort to use only the CFAI material for your preparation towards L1.
