The Delhi High Court today pronounced judgment in the captioned matter. It has dismissed the writ petition. However, the detailed order is not yet available yet. Basically the situation is that the CFAI has lost this particular case. The detailed order should be available by Monday.

Hopefully it is some technicality -you know the type lawyers want to split hairs about.anyways,we'll see. CFAI is not going to turn over and die like a dog.
the minimum i expect is to let cfai allow candidates to take the exam in foreign countries. look at this way, you can always combine a foreign vacation and exam from now onwards. !

sorry to sound so cheery, but i do know i am desperate.

oh,i forgot: my weekend is screwd now.

It is Bad that CFAI lost, those who have registered by using different addresses, they should be really carefull, either they should give some reasons to CFAI and change their addresses back to Indian ones or work in some other country, I spoke to a lot of people in CFAI and they are updating in their records, that which candidate has relocated to other country and which candidate is still in India. This case will go to supreme court and it will take more than a year to get the final judgement. Candidates should start thinking seriously if they are registered with addresses of abroad and staying in India.

Dont ever let CFAI know that they are in India but have registered by using some other addresses.

If CFAI is not able to take in any new Candidate registrations, then can't we ask CFAI to allow atleast L2 and L3 candidates to give exams at a foreign location.

it is still not clear to me why a)indian students residing in india arent being allowed by cfai to appear outside india. is there any specific court injunction against this.afaik, cpa (the US one ) aspirants take that route .
b) if they were indeed barred by the courts, then how did they allow people like me to take L1 in Dec. I had registered in March 07 before the trouble began.

my guess is that they didnt allow option (a) above to because the matter was sub judice.now that it is no longer subjudice, there should nothing preventing anyone from taking this outside india -fundamental freedoms being impinged here!.

I'm a neutral to this case. the decision has gone against CFAI and I empathize your situation.
Hope the situation gets resolved soon. Good luck.

CFAI took an unnecessary panga with ICFAI. The Feb 2007 ads by CFAI against ICFAI sparked the heated debate.

Everything was going good for CFAI till last year.

I myself is a ms finance from ICFAI but have lots of friends in my investment bank who are persuing CFAI. Tough situation.
